This how-to guide is written for those who need to change, replace or install the headlight bulb in the Toyota Camry. The vehicle that I show in this guide
is specifically the 2012 Camry, but the light bulb replacement for the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 Toyota Camry is the 9006 for the low beam, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013,
2014
Camry low beam headlight is the H11, and for all models the 9005 for the high beams. So this headlight replacement manual may be
helpful to owners other Toyota vehicles like the 4Runner, Avalon, Corolla, Rav4, Highlander, FJ Curiser, Land Cruiser, Matrix, Prius, Sequoia and similar Lexus models like the IS350, LS350, GS350 Models.
There are many manufactures of the headlight bulbs like Sylvania, SilverStar, AC Delco and aftermarket Xeon Blue bulbs made by companies like Putco and Nokya. OEM replacement
Highbeam 9005,
Low Beam 9006 and
Low Beam H11 bulbs should run
around $10-$20 a piece at your local Advanced Auto Parts or Pep Boys. Always check your owner's manual, Chilton, or Haynes manual before beginning any repair or replacement job for specific instructions for
your vehicle. Please read Disclaimer. Tools Needed: None

The Toyota Camry headlight bulb is located under the hood so you will need to gain access to the engine compartment. |

Popped Hood |
Under the steering column on the driver side of the vehicle is the hood release lever that will pop the hood. |

Reach your fingers under the center of the hood in the gap now left from releasing the hood and you will feel a lever, pull up on it and lift the hood with
your other hand. Make sure that if your hood does not have gas filled pistons that hold the hood up you will need to prop the hood up with the hood rod. Locate the low beam head light (or high beam if
that is what you are replacing) and remove the wire harness by pressing the small lever on the front of the harness. |

Once you have removed the wire harness you will need to turn the headlight bulb counter clockwise about 1/8th to a 1/4 turn. You should be able to pull the
Low
Beam H11 or Low Beam 9006 dead headlight bulb (depending on model year) straight out of the headlight assembly at this point. If your are replacing the high beam it is a
9005 replacement bulb. |

Installed Bulb |
Once you have removed the old Camry headlight bulb you can replace it with the new headlight. Insert the new bulb directly in the hole and rotate it clockwise
until it is secure and the headlight wire harness assembly should be pointing towards the ground. Re-attach the wire harness by sliding it over the headlight retaining clip until it clicks into place.
Test the headlights and you are done. |
