You should be able to remove the dome light bulb from the dome light housing while pulling back on the metal retaining clip that holds the bulb at one end.

The DE3175 light bulb is available by many manufactures like Sylvania, AC Delco, Silverstar and GE. Many people chose to convert or replace the dome light with an LED bulb because they are a brighter white light bulb and they last longer. LED replacement bulbs are available from companies like Putco, Lumen and Philips 31mm festoon aftermarket bulbs.

Working New Dome Light Bulbs

If the dome light does not work you may need to make sure that the switch is not in the "Off" position. The Toyota 4Runner dome light has three modes, On, Off and Door. When in the door light position the dome light will only come on when a door is open or the door locks are unlocked with the key fob. If changing the bulbs does not fix the light check the dome light fuse to make sure it is not blown. If none of the interior lights work you may need a new interior light relay. You can try here for information on Toyota 4Runner Fuse Box Location and Diagram. If you need help changing the map light see the Toyota 4Runner Map Light Replacement Guide.
